Objective reality is the ultimate frame of reference. The greater the awareness of objective reality, the greater the ability to quickly discern the truth. By definition and to varying degrees, the delusional among us do not seem to appreciate objective reality.
Tathagata sat in deep meditation. He sensed the shimmering mirage surrounding him, so enticing, was not real. Nothing was certain anymore. He let go of everything.

The conscious being allows itself to dissipate into nothingness, knowing it will remain connected to reality no matter how detached it becomes.
Tathagata calmly sat facing the sunrise over the ridge. His breathing was deep and slow. His chin was up, his spine erect, his shoulders broad and strong. His burden was immense. He now knew he might never see his sons again in this life. A stiff breeze brushed his face.
Redemption. Enlightenment. Sanity. These are worthy goals, yes? Go outside at night and regard the stars. Recognize there is a vast objective reality beyond your subjective comprehension. Understand you are minuscule. Know you are connected to, and part of, reality.
No one - absolutely no one - is as close to you as the self. Not your mother nor father. Not your spouse. Not your kids. Not your friends. Not your business associates. No one. To be content you must accept and respect the self. To thrive you must dominate the self.
Many among us confuse compassion with pity. The former requires conviction and empathy. The latter evokes from superiority, condescension, and even contempt.
The self becomes calm and obedient when its attention-seeking antics are treated with dispassion. Overall, one becomes more consciously and situationally aware of reality when one’s view is no longer distracted nor obscured by the whims and desires of the self.
There are many varied belief systems available to mankind. Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Various tribal political parties. Freemasonry. Transcending all of these are the guiding principles of Love and Unity.
One who possesses true humility and self-worth remains unflappable, gains understanding, and even finds some humor when suffering the occasional chastisement.
The misty fleck that is spirit exists molecularly connected to the limitless cosmos. It is inevitably buffeted by nearby neighbors to which it is bound. The aware spirit recognizes the natural cause of such disturbances and, unaffected, absorbs the shock and carries on.
Beyond calmness is the state of nothingness, where the mind and body dissolve into the ether. Raging anger and seething hatred are but noxious gases quickly absorbed by the vast emptiness. The light of love glimmers and fades. One is nothing, yet now a part of everything.
The deep, rhythmic, prolonged breathing of my lungs calms my fretting mind and carries my soul to the Void. That place of peace where there is nothing. Nothing at all.
