NEW: Gerry Hutch is set to run in the Dublin Central by-election next year, and plans to register “hundreds” of new voters in the Inner City. Via @IrishTimes
Worth remembering, amid the Gerry Hutch chat, that the bar for winning a by-election is much higher than that of a general election. The quota last November was 20% of the vote; in a by-election it’s 50%. A year ago Hutch won 9.5%.

Also worth noting that the same thing was done at Michael D. Higgins' inauguration and, quite rightly, nobody tried to make a fuss. The only difference is that now there are a bunch of foreign weirdos collaborating with the worst people in Ireland to import idiotic culture wars.

So now we know this was once again deliberate arson, will we see politicians take accountability for their own inflammatory rhetoric, and self-reflect for pandering to these people?

Fianna Fail Galway Councillor Michael Regan says FF Ministers who said they'd vote for Fine Gael's Heather Humphreys should be expelled from the party Cllr Regan says Michael Martin should resign & 'it's time for Jim O'Callaghan to stand up & be counted as we are in a crisis'
This is one of very few worthwhile analyses of the spoiled votes I've seen so far. Based on data, not confirmation bias.
I've completed an analysis of the spoiled voter in the link below. This is a voter who will invariably come into play in the future. open.substack.com/pub/kevcunning…
Paywall lifted on this explosive @EchoChambersPod despite the complaints and thinly veiled legal threats from @irishelectproj’s Harry McEvansoneya and so-called Mr Gist Simon McGarr! spotify.link/4HvzRAqIPXb
Rather than reflecting on why they got things wrong during the election campaign, a significant section of Ireland's commentariat instead have gone into an active denial of reality, publishing "analysis" with no relationship to the real world. A self-made crisis for media #Áras25
Both (busted flushes) Micheal Martin and Simon Harris want to talk about making it easier to get on the ballot because they want to deflect from how crap their campaigns were. The reality👇 Watch or listen here: patreon.com/posts/patron-e…
