Tomorrow is Election Day. I hope you'll vote for proposals 2-6. If you'll indulge me, a quick run-down of the remarkable coalition of supporters: Starting with the editorial boards of the Daily News, Post, and Crain's, and though the Times has declined to weigh in, Mara Gay.
waited for the halloween sticker to vote — @ZohranKMamdani on @WorkingFamilies line ✅ — YES on 2-5 for @YesOnAffHousing ✅ — also yes on 1 and 6 ✅ happy halloween! 🎃
A new chapter for Jamaica, Queens, starts today! @NYCCouncil just APPROVED the Jamaica Neighborhood Plan. This means a more affordable, prosperous and vibrant future with nearly 12,000 new homes & 7,000 new jobs 🎉
Long Island City is the perfect place to add housing & public waterfront space – but across too much of the neighborhood, outdated zoning stands in the way. The OneLIC plan can change that! @DanGarodnick explains.
How are @idsnews alumni celebrating IU homecoming? Fighting for a free press, of course! Today, 243 IDS alums urged @IUBloomington @IUMediaSchool to restore the Indiana journalism program to the crown jewel it once was. 📨LETTER: docs.google.com/document/d/1-s…
Not happy. Censorship isn’t the way. I gave money to IU general fund for the IDS last year, so they could pay everyone and not run a deficit. I gave more than they asked for. I told them I’m happy to help because the IDS is important to kids at IU
IU previously directed the Indiana Daily Student to stop printing news coverage in our paper. Upon pushback, IU fully cut print, including our special editions. The IDS was not involved in the decision. Letter from the editors to come.

An absolutely appalling decision from @IUMediaSchool. The entire university leadership is set on censoring the classroom, the newsroom and the campus. Another sad day to be an @IUBloomington alumnus.
LETTER FROM THE EDITORS: Our student media director refused to censor the Indiana Daily Student. IU fired him. idsnews.com/article/2025/1…
Jamaica, Queens, could soon be home to the largest area in NYC where affordable housing is required 👀 Here’s how:
love the new obstacle course to get off the bus lol
Happening NOW: New Yorkers Against ICE! We are at 26 Federal Plaza, where ICE abducts immigrant New Yorkers, to demand access to the 10th floor and block ICE vans from leaving. NYers refuse to stand by while ICE abducts our neighbors. Neither should our leaders. #ICEoutofNY
We’re developing an ambitious plan to take on Manhattan’s housing crisis & we need your help! The Manhattan Plan survey closes soon — don't miss your chance to tell us where new homes should go. ¡Comparte tus ideas! 分享你的想法! Tell us your ideas! ➡️ manhttanplan.nyc
Industry moves, makes & maintains NYC. In 1955, half of our city’s private sector jobs were in the sector. Just 15% are now. But industry is still essential to NYC. That’s why we’re releasing the draft NYC Industrial Plan — a framework to support industry & communities.
We deserve to vote on solutions to our housing crisis. Awful to hear that some @BOENYC commissioners are considering stopping us from speaking out
One step closer to 14,700 new homes in Long Island City! 🎉 The City Planning Commission just APPROVED the #OneLIC Neighborhood Plan. Next up: a @NYCCouncil hearing and vote!
We’ve just hit a HUGE milestone in our fight to address NYC’s housing crisis: our approved zoning actions are projected to create more than 𝟭𝟬𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 new homes. Every one of those homes will help create a more affordable, livable city for generations to come.
Big news: Nearly 10,000 new homes are coming to the heart of Manhattan! @NYCCouncil just APPROVED the Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan. This means more homes, more jobs, and more investments in this transit-rich, central neighborhood – a true win-win-win 🎉
