Alabama is home to @WeeksBayReserve which encompasses 6k+ acres of wetlands within a small estuary. It’s also home to pitcher plant bogs! These bogs contain a myriad of rare species and are easily accessible on the reserve’s nature trails. coast.noaa.gov/nerrs/reserves…

Happy to share some great student (Jack and Donnie) work @cmubs looking at how microbes from a few select habitats in the Laurentian Great Lakes would respond to crude oil exposure. @cmichSE linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S…

Hot off the presses, here's a paper investigating how the impacts of burrowing crabs on marsh edaphic conditions vary, depending on how soil is stratified. #TwitterlessShelby and I are real proud of this one! esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ec…

Grab your life vests! Our fire personnel @ Sacramento NWR (CA) completed a #rxfire via airboat and terra torch - allowing them to reach areas of the wetland that are normally inaccessible. Regular fire in wetlands is vital to promote healthy habitat for wildlife 📽️ USFWS

Cornell is increasing grad stipends to $43k for next year, requiring summer funding to be provided for all PhD students, cutting grad tuition costs for private Cornell colleges cause they are currently higher than the public ones
