This! Have a look under the hood @living_carbon.

1/ I left OpenAI 3 years ago to pursue a challenge equally as important as AGI: climate change. While we’re still short of ChatGPTree, @living_carbon has developed climate-smart trees, planted 200K+ trees & is creating a playbook for frontier tech in new markets:🧵👇

Love this!

For our 50th year, we’re looking forward, not back, to life on Earth. Together, we can prioritize purpose over profit, collaboration over competition and protect this wondrous planet, our only home. What’s next is unstoppable. #Patagonia50th

It’s planting season! We’ve officially started commercial deployment of our trees (engineered to be more efficient at photosynthesis) into US-based carbon projects. Much more work to do, but this is a first and a big milestone!

“We’ve had people tell us it’s impossible,” Maddie Hall said of Living Carbon’s dream to deploy genetic engineering on behalf of the climate. But she and her colleagues have also found believers — enough to invest $36 million in the four-year-old company. nyti.ms/3S3HnuA
