Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds. Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever.
WHO gives the same info to all countries about Covid. We could see from China this was bad news. How information has been used to manage this illness is a significant factor in human outcomes so far. Noone wants to see people suffer and die. Leadership please!
RIP Democracy in the US. Alleged Corruption and abuse of power was not enough of a concern to even hear from all relevant witnesses. Shame Senate Shame.
The popularity of the US president and the reelection mood isnot the point - it is about exposing and addressing allegations of corrupt abuses of power. That should be important to everyone #POTUS
Once upon a time - in what nows seems an ancient era of dignity - the US President was a respected person, a role model. The shame this US President brings to the office is immense. Meuller did his job. His findings are clear. No amount of Presidential bullshit will change that.
Look at it now.... a petulant child-president is unhappy that people under oath gave evidence of what happened. That is called obeying the law. He should be thanking those people that some measure of integrity within their souls saved his hide.
Once upon a time the office of the President of the US was dignified and respected, and the person who had the solemn duty to take that office treated it with the dignity and respect it deserved.
Surely the easiest way to end conjecture over the Mueller report is to release the Mueller report in full. That will give you your vindication and publicly Mr Trump.
And there it is. Trump has definitively signalled the end of democracy in the USA. I never thought I would see disrespect from him towards the countries democratic institutions . But 2 years on here we are.
Once upon a time the USA was the bastian of democracy... but in the last two years it has been moving closer to autocracy. The POTUS proposes unilateral action, if he acts on it, will really call into question whether the US democratic system is finished.
Time for Australia to critically review the strength of its military alliances.
