I’ve tried to stay apolitical online which is nearly fucking impossible. Hopefully this is not controversial but, if I receive any gov’t💰but am able to continue working and drawing a paycheck, I intend to give the gov’t 💰 to combat this virus.
I feel like the companies I tend to work for are evil enough. Pass.
I have another absurd request for #TechTwitter. I need a mouse recommendation. I’m looking for - comfort - h and v scrolling - back and forward nav buttons - Bluetooth, USB C - rechargeable - durability I’ve been eyeing the @Microsoft Arc. Open to any recommendations.
Anyone out there ever build an #OData API in front of an @Azure #CognitiveSearch index and @AzureCosmosDB combo? Lets say the average collection size is on the order of a mil documents with half a dozen collections.
Easily 80% of my motivation to write is because I can’t remember the subject properly on my own.
There’s absolutely no way I could pass the coding interview at any of the big tech companies. Even the ones where the interviewer learned to code from one of my tutorials.
I’ve learned a hard truth about myself now that I’ve moved fully into #Python after years of mainly #csharp. I’ve become dependent on in-my-face build errors to help me refactor. I can’t safely change a method signature to save my life.
The statistics mantra "Correlation does NOT mean Causation" explained with an example.
Tech Twitter. I had to send back a lot of great equipment to the company I just left. Can’t believe they didn’t let me keep it. Point is, I need recommendations for three new monitors and a USB C dock. Also taking recommendations for other must-have equipment. Opinions welcome.
I’ve become suspicious that this “finish this with autocomplete” gag is really an elaborate way to metaharvest what our phones have learned about us.
Try this with tech instead: "I'm quitting tech to become" and then let predictive text decide your new career path. I'm quitting tech to become the most popular man in the world
Step 1: stop letting Google take your data.
And now for a Twitter thread about how to strengthen your online security. ⬇️
Current experiment: Every time I have a question in an email, I put it in a list. Even if it’s one item. I think this is the least obnoxious way to visually call out the question, thus giving me the best odds of getting a response.
Society would be better off if we gave people more credit for trying and less credit for succeeding.
Yet another informative thread on ADHD. I’ve wondered how I can be tired despite the CPAP and amphetamines for my ADHD.
Let’s talk about ADHD and sleep! Cause if you talk about ADHD at all, eventually someone is going to pop up and say something about sleep. But we’ll get into that in a second. First, let’s just talk about sleep and humans.
Current fear, now that I’m using the commuter train: I’ll get on the wrong train, despite being convinced it’s the right one. Or It’ll be the right train and just won’t go all the way to my stop.
