We should seriously considering instrumenting a lot more of these fascinating beings. Surely a bunch of interesting use cases, with a few 100/1000 sensors in the sky.

What a small world! I knew Prof. Vembu Gourishankar and have met Dr. Radha too. I wonder why she stopped her career. In 1966 there were *plenty* of job opportunities in all branches in STEM! Clearly, it was a loss to science.

T.K. Radha -Born in Kerala in British India at a time when it was not the norm to educate girls beyond high school. In June 1965 J. Robert Oppenheimer personally invited her to visit the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey( pinnacle of 1960s physics )(1/3)

Fascinating.

For those struk by the magic of Amurs ! Apapang makes it across the Arabian Sea with ease and enters the Horn of Africa, specifically Somalia. Apapang, being an adult male, has definitely done this oceanic crossing multiple times before. Apapang has now done nearly 5400 km, and…

I know that DPSU too. That’s why I say the scepticism is fair. It’s still important to clarify since the few who try should not be clustered with those that don’t. Also, profit motive is a word we have heard for years as derogatory and it stings when foreign OEM’s or DPSU’s are…

Scepticism is fair. I don’t think the senior brass of armed forces is wrong. The truth though is somewhere in the middle and guess what, this is the story in every nation. Industry is patriotic and nationalistic. “Some” of us have braved the odds of surviving by undertaking R&D…

Asking realistic things is important - indigenous content to timelines. If GoI or user never funded critical tech development or supply chain capacity in the first place, do they expect overnight magic ? Free market economics doesnt fully work in the defence world. Need long…

CDS is right in criticising inflated claims of ‘indigenisation’ by companies. In the same context, govt functionaries need to be cautious before according the “Atamnirbharta” label to a platform/system whose vital components may be imported. Self-delusion is harmful.

Breathtaking display of ignorance, of the funding and functionings of his own ministry by a former Defence secretary and borderline lobbying for dismantling a national effort that’s at last gonna see serious money and intent from the political leadership. Where do I start?
