For committed travel baseball players, that number is probably $6000/yr or more including team fees, training, hotels and meals out. Do that from 13U-17U and you're looking at $30K before factoring in equipment and lots of other things.

I would love to find a study that compares the amount of money families spend on their children's athletic careers K-12 with total scholarship money that college athletes receive. #youthsports
