When I returned to Milwaukee for that one fateful game in 2021, after blowing out my elbow and walking off the mound, I was emotional and unsure of what to do for days. Until one afternoon, Bob and I chatted in the food room at the stadium… he asked what my plan was. I told him…
We are heartbroken to announce that Brewers icon & Baseball Hall of Famer Bob Uecker passed away today at the age of 90
We couldn’t ask Bob Uecker for more than what he gave us. His baseball history, voice & stories were unmatched. I can’t imagine having a fuller life & bringing more joy to everyone. I will forever be grateful for his friendship- what a gift. I will think of him every game.💙💛
19 minutes of legendary Bob Uecker calls and moments 💙
For #Brewers fans mourning the loss of the great Bob Uecker, I encourage you to pick up the @journalsentinel or go to @jsonline for extraordinary coverage and tributes. I counted 23 stories online this morning. Special kudos to beat writers @Todd_Rosiak and @CyrtHogg.
This is Ann Telnaes, a longtime political cartoonist for the Washington Post. She resigned yesterday after owner Jeff Bezos blocked her cartoon criticizing Donald Trump and billionaires supporting him from being published. RETWEET if you stand with @AnnTelnaes!
Midwest colloquialism for “oops/sorry” spotted on ‘Milwaukee’s east side.
The Brewers are bringing back Bark at the Park, this is not a drill!!
Winter Solstice lighting switched on Thursday night at the Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum is spectacular. Make sure to look through windows to see the glow falling from above the atrium into the interior & across the walls, floor & even the Calder mobile.
A few minutes after 5 p.m. Wednesday on the new Locust St. Ravine Trail extension in Lake Park beneath the reconstructed concrete pedestrian bridge. Great sky!
Props to the @NorthPointLightHouse in Milwaukee’s Lake Park for turning the landmark into a Halloween treat.
I stopped on the Wisconsin Ave. bridge on my way to Thursday night’s Bob Dylan show at the Riverside Theater to appreciate how the rain added sparkle to the upriver view.
“It makes us look like a bunch of idiots,” Says GOP Rep. Austin Scott on Republicans not being able to pick a Speaker.
Great to see Douglas Armstrong at @boswellbooks Thursday reading from his latest novel Sun Dog Memory. Deeply researched thriller by a career journalist. Salute.
Yes, baseball closed out at AMFam Field Wednesday (I was there for both games with my adult sons, one game a piece), but under that sky in Lake Park Thurs. with 2, two hundred-year old green ash trees still going strong in deep left the ball diamond there looked dam near eternal.
I hope people allow Sen. Diane Feinstein's friends and family space and consideration to grieve her death and deal with the considerable stress they have all suffered alongside her before jumping into the politics of her replacement.
Let’s test out this theory. Please retweet or like this if you live in the City of Milwaukee and want to see 794 reimagined.
Most of the people who want to tear it down don’t live downtown, they just like bitching about it. Stay In Shorewood, Whitefish Bay or wherever you live and mind your own goddamn business.
The city's heaviest sustained 24-hour summer '23 rainfall is a literal perfect storm illustration of the damaging GOP/right-wing talk radio alliance that killed light rail which could have conveniently delivered many thousands of Pink's concert-goers. jsonline.com/story/news/tra…
