I am a lifelong 71 year old baseball fan. People believing Holbrook's call was horrible is another instance that the game I have always loved is on "life support".
You are not supposed to run through the bag like Trea Turner did. Sam Holbrook absolutely made the right call-----as Joe Torre so eloquently explained to Ken Rosenthal after the game. But people still don't get it!!!
Fundamental baseball since the game was invented. You are supposed to run the last 45 feet to First Base between the rectangle in foul territory touching the outside of the base with your left foot-----specifically to avoid interfering with a throw.
