Only 3%-5% of eligible voters effectively decided the U.S. House special elections in Rhode Island and Utah yesterday. In these "safe" districts, the general elections are over before they even begin. Yet another example of the #PrimaryProblem in our politics.
Yesterday, Rhode Island & Utah held special primary elections to fill U.S. House vacancies. Because both districts are noncompetitive in the general election, these races have already effectively been decided. This exposes the #PrimaryProblem with our politics. Let’s unpack it⬇️
