🌠 This research provides insights into the dynamic processes shaping our galaxy's structure, highlighting the interconnected nature of stellar families. Kudos to the team at @univienna for this stellar discovery! #Science #Research #MilkyWay
These findings, published in @Nature, show these clusters come from highly active star-forming regions, with supernovae influencing gas distribution in the Milky Way. This groundbreaking work combines data from @esa's Gaia and @NASA's TESS missions. #Astrophysics #StarClusters
New research led by @mac0598 & @joaoalves from #univienna and @bobabenjamin from @UWWhitewater reveals that many nearby star clusters originate from just three "families." ✨ 📷 (c) ESO/STScI Digitized Sky Survey

Hidden views of vast stellar nurseries | ESOcast Light
“In these images we can detect even the faintest sources of light, like stars far less massive than the Sun, revealing objects that no one has ever seen before,” says Stefan Meingast, “This will allow us to understand the processes that transform gas and dust into stars.”
The atlas pieced together more than one million images, by using data from VISTA, @ESO's Visible and Infrared Survey #Telescope for #Astronomy. The result: reveiling new objects, that have never been seen before, to shed some more light on young stars in the making. ☁✨
