Exciting news! REM have just announced that the Duex-Montanges branch of the system will open on November 17. That’s 14 new stations, with 3 connection points to Montreal’s metro system, and the return of rail transit for those who lost their EXO train for this project in 2020.

The first two DM prototype locomotives from Stadler are being unloaded in Lyttelton. 🥳🚂 I believe that these are the first locomotives since the 1960’s that have been designed specifically with South Island operations in mind. Usually they just get North Island hand me downs.
Incredible scenes on my Via train bound for Toronto. Two guys helped their mum get settled on the train, but it then departed while they were onboard. They then got mad when the staff declined to stop the train in the middle of nowhere for them. Free trip to Cornwall I guess 😅
Was genuinely not expecting Billie to sing Guess, but it was an absolute vibe.
We’re in Quebec for the opening night for Billie Eilish and the energy is chaotic (in a good way). It’s fun when no one knows the setlist or what will happen. A centre stage is fun too.
Looks like Auckland Transport’s new electric double decker buses are getting closer to arrival. A few CRRC buses were spotted in Hong Kong this week. Emissions free and a great view of the city? How exciting!
