"Here's how people in Minneapolis responded to George Floyd's death," Tucker Carlson says, and then he shows citizen videos of looting and fires instead of the protest movement that swept across the country two months ago this week. So insulting to the people of Minneapolis.

At a perilous time for Pittsburgh #journalism, my admiration in boundless for @PGNewsGuild members. Treated for 3+ years as chattel, they are laser-focused on their commitment to their calling. Courageous and true professionals. I am humbled to be their colleague and friend.

In March of 2016 I led @Poynter event to celebrate @PulitzerPrizes centennial. Keynote by Rep. John Lewis, who encouraged us to "make good trouble." At end gospel choir singing "We Shall Overcome." Many in audience in tears. Someone grabs my hand. I look up. It's John Lewis.

Preach, my brother.

Sara speaks the truth. The @PGNewsGuild’s fight to eliminate systemic racism at the @PittsburghPG continues and will go on until JR Block, Keith Burris and Karen Kane recognize the pain they’ve caused @alexisjreports, the entire newsroom and the community we proudly serve.

I think the words "This is not an editorial statement. This is just true" might be key for working journalists to include on social media in this disturbing era of "alternative facts," especially in newsrooms where any deviation from a "just-the-facts-ma'am' approach is suspect.

The President is saying NASCAR made a mistake by banning the confederate flag. His language encourages people to fly the flag that represents the losing side of the Civil War, the side that wanted to keep enslaving people. This is not an editorial statement. This is just true.
