Everyone at Dementia UK is deeply saddened to learn of the death of @WendyPMitchell. A tireless campaigner, Wendy’s writing and work helped many people understand what it is like to live with dementia, as well as giving a powerful voice to those living with the condition.💙[1/4]

It initially really surprised me in this first year at @hospiceuk that hospices do so much beyond their buildings. Less than 5% of deaths occur in hospices, but the number of people who benefit from their services is so much higher: Over 300,000 people in 2022. Not just IPU!
Hospices are not just buildings, as organisations their work and ethos permeates deeply into communities and primary care. Many are fighting to survive when they should be able to expand their support for those in need.
