Glad to see a few months of collaboration with the FontForge developers result in reasonably good support for modifying UFO3 fonts. Still some rough edges but we've got it working well.
We've updated our SIL Font Development Notes to give details of how to use FontForge - the free/libre font design tool - to modify our fonts. silnrsi.github.io/silfontdev/en-…
We've now documented and shared our font production processes. Still a bit geeky (runs from terminal commands) but works oh so well. Hope to expand it with more details over time.
