Comparison of how my app Kamui looked 2 months ago vs how it looks now. I'm no designer but let me tell you it looks bangin' now.
It's just not possible to translate a work that's all about a Japanese dialect into a language that isn't Japanese, it simply doesn't make any sense. Whatever the translation choices are, it will never be anywhere near close to directly understanding the native content.
Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! got an awful English "localization" with slang and odd words.
People complaining about game and anime localizations hardly ever seem to address the elephant in the room: learning Japanese. It might seem ridiculous and impossible but it's really not. It only takes time. I'd say it's easier and takes less time than learning an instrument.
