I can’t quite believe I’m writing this but it has been a whole year since I had surgery to remove my bladder and re-route my kidneys to drain through a piece of my bowel into a stoma bag (urostomy). I went into surgery not knowing if I’d survive but I now live a life I love 🧵 1/
Today I sent off my diploma so it can be destroyed because I’m now officially going back to Uni in September to finish my Speech and Language Therapy degree. I thought I’d given up on my dream forever 2 years ago when I left, so this just feels SO special! 1/1
I will never ever take for granted finally living in a body I can trust not to make me seriously ill. To be able to go to west end live, drink pimms with my little brother and trust my body wouldn’t fail me or land me in hospital was like a dream come true. I love my life now 💕
Made the mistake of thinking it had cooled down enough for a run…It hasn’t 😂 However, this time last year I could barely make it through 2 weeks without ending up in hospital with Urosepsis. 1 year on and I can run on the hottest day of year. V grateful now!
This time last year I could only dream of a life like this. It may not be all plain sailing but it is a beautiful life to be living right now and for that I am SO grateful ♥️
