“Taking the fall off” to “workout” is a very poor strategy in this era of recruiting. More high school players will get college offers in the fall than in the summer. If you can’t workout and play at the same time, you won’t make it in college baseball anyways.
I didn’t pitch at all this spring because I wasn’t good enough. But now that I got my 15 innings of work this summer I need to leave early to rest up for fall ball. I can’t wait to shove against my roommate!
