Decisions should be made based upon the needs of students not upon the wants of loudest, most politically astute or well connected adults.
Question. Are you aware of some schools that are so good and comfortable for the adults... that they may not be all that good for Ss?
Lots of rhetoric out there about making decisions best for Ss. Far too often the needs/wants of the adults are the deciding factor.
If your goal upon entering leadership is to try to please everyone... good luck with that… How's that working for you?
When is the last time you asked this question? Do you want to be right or do you want to be good and effective?
I often wonder why we ask for grace and frankly, expect it to be given and don't always return the favor.
The bottom line is you just can't do what you've always done and then expect something different.
