I acquired an extra RLCS wheels code form the World Championship! Just RT and Like for a chance to win it! I'll pick a winner early next week!

For the first time in 5 years I've actually sat down and started writing a *tutorial* for @coderjourney. I've missed this.

I've been using Windows + WSL + VS Code for awhile to work on personal projects (my macbooks have all been work owned for years) and the experience is honestly pretty good. I recently switched back to NeoVim at work though and now I find myself shaving yet another yak...

Who should I interview?

Wow it’s been a very long time. I’m thinking about starting up a CoderJourney podcast where I interview people to talk about their coder *journeys*. Is this something you’d be interesting in listening to? Who should I interview?

Since I'm not creating content full time I think it's time to switch back to Vim (likely NeoVim) as my text editor. Let's see if my config from years ago still gets me somewhere close to a useable setup.

🤐 Special recording of The Standup where @keiththomps talks about his interview experience. share.descript.com/view/zsBJydpZK… standup.fm/s5e1

Today was my first day as a senior developer with @Shopify, and I had a total blast. Gelling with the purpose for my work is important and very easy in this case.

Baby-Carrier Driven Development (BCDD) is going surprisingly well. I might actually launch something during this paternity leave 😂. I just can’t type very loudly which is actually kind of hard for me. Has shown me that typing speed definitely doesn’t matter much.

I might finally be able to get some stuff done while holding the baby. He won’t sleep in his crib or being held very well, but he passes right out in this 😂

I really wish that I could do things while holding a sleeping baby, I would be getting so much done with my 2-4 hours each day 😢

I’ve reached the point of sleep deprivation where I can’t recall basic facts correctly. Just tried to convince my wife that coffee takes 5hrs before you can feel the caffeine and I believed myself 😐

If I haven’t watched WandaVision yet is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier going to spoil anything for me? I’d like to go back and watch WandaVision at some point, but would rather watch the less weird of the two first.

My phone just tried to autocorrect “penis” to “peninsula”… the same phone that added to “Scrotum Water” to the grocery list instead of “sparkling water” 😂 Machine learning really is magical

Having a colicky baby really is hell. So thankful for my paternity leave not being 2 weeks like many places. Long, paid paternity leave is worth it. My work quality would be a liability right now.

After getting a consistent, “comfortable” 4-5 hours of sleep each night for the last week my 2 hours last night feels exceptionally rough. Infants are hard.

After two weeks off with a newborn (2/12) I can confidently say that work is relaxing in comparison 😅 I need to find some time to write some code.

Last week our child to parent ratio reached 1:1. Man am I tired now, but feeling very lucky to get to raise these two (Eden and Asher).
