I know @Delta has had a rough week. I also know it is incredibly frustrating to update a lost item ticket with the exact location of the lost item every day, including a screenshot from the Apple FindMy app, only to continue to get "sorry, we can't find your item" automated email

If anyone's still looking for an invite to bsky I've got a few and happy to share. I've largely eliminated X for the last month and found that Threads and Bluesky are more than sufficient. Hope to see more of you there!

I've found a ton of value here on Twitter over the years in being able to connect to likeminded folks in the climate/electrification space, but it's harder and harder to justify given the actions of the current owner. Logging off for a while or longer, find me on the alternatives

Indeed, if we dive into the data, it’s clear that the ominous headlines about the “slowing” EV market are more a story about *Ford and GM in particular*, than anything else, as I explain in the rest of my column. Read more at heatmap.news/electric-vehic…

Anyone need invite codes for that other place? Really looking forward to leaving this one behind

Just noting that a key US senator--and veteran climate cleader @SenJeffMerkley--is calling on the Biden administration to shut down the expansion of gas exports. This is an important moment in this fight

Exporting fossil gas cannot be part of U.S. climate policy. @billmckibben reports on new research that LNG exports are worse for the climate than coal—projects like CP2 are disastrous. The world needs to agree to phase out all fossil fuels at COP28. newyorker.com/news/daily-com…

Did you know, the wind doesn't always blow & the sun sets every night? I recently learned this, and so I did some digging on how we might manage an electricity grid with lots of wind & solar on it. I shared what I found w/@drvolts in his pod. You may enjoy volts.wtf/p/what-the-sun…

The most American thing I've ever seen: a bunch of hallucinatory, Qanon-level moral-panic nonsense about kids getting poisoned or snatched, but no mention whatsoever of what is by FAR the greatest Halloween danger: cars.

As EV shoppers get more price conscious, Hyundai cuts the price of 2024 Ioniq 6 sedan by 10%, entry trim now starts under $39,000. Hyundai says lower price is due to “production efficiencies & scale.” Probably no accident the Tesla Model 3 ~= price now too electrek.co/2023/10/27/hyu…

Good morning with good news: Hyundai is cutting the price of the Ioniq 6 by $4100. Why? "Efficiencies and scale" in its EV production. Hyundai's EV sales jumped 33%, and it is on track with its transition to EVs. Hyundai could be an EV survivor or winner. insideevs.com/news/693451/20…

A beautiful event, celebrating the opening of the East Calais General Store! We worked with town leaders so this store and community center is fully electric with no fossil fuels! #vt

When journalists write about disastrous weather phenomenons “connected to climate change,” they must go one step further, and also note the primary causes of climate change: Fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial agriculture. My latest: heated.world/p/calling-this…

Out with the old (and polluting!), in with the new (and clean): a shuttered coal-fired power plant on the south Jersey Shore was imploded today, but the site will see new life as the grid connection point for several offshore wind parks. nbcphiladelphia.com/news/green/for…

Former coal-fired power plant in NJ imploded to make way for offshore wind electricity connection

A giant smokestack that was part of the landscape for millions of tourists heading to the Jersey shore beaches came down Thursday morning.
