Let's talk about the mind, creativity, data and technology. Why don't you have a seat?

If your focus is a wreck and your mind feels fragmented throughout the day -- prescribe yourself about an hour everyday of reading from a physical book. It's a miracle drug. Get to work building yourself a personal library, and catalogue them (fires, floods, you never know).

Progress begins with asking the right questions. Questions that you are meant to ask. For yourself. Someone else's question won't cut it.

Indecision is a black hole. Nothing comes out of it. Think about that. But not too much.

My fastest read of 2024. It's all about the keystone habits, people. One thing fuels another. It's all one big ouroborous of discipline and motivation.

Every idea in your head is going to take double the time to build it in real life. You underestimate the effort involved and overestimate how much time you have left.

The mastery of focus and patience is the new gold rush.

I know this is not ideal, but - logging even 100 days out of 365 in anything (health, writing, creativity) is better than the alternative, aka wishing for perfection and doing nothing. 100 days is 2 days / week. Do you really want it easier than that?

An important reminder:

SahilBloom's tweet image. An important reminder:

If something you planted in your garden isn't growing well, maybe the soil is the problem and needs fixing. If your ideas and projects are always losing steam and grinding to a halt, maybe you need to work on your mind first.

Perfectionism is when you spend time working on the 80 when you actually should be working on the 20. Pareto's principle will declutter your mind when done properly.

I'm glad I didn't listen to the Marie Kondo-ists and throw away my decade+ old magazines. Decluttering doesn't fix everything. Keep your stuff.

Doing one uncomfortable thing that really pushes you (like a marathon) is no guarantee that you've 'figured' it out or that you will continue to step out of your comfort zone. It's not something you unlock in yourself. It's a muscle. Use it or lose it.

You will stop and ponder often with this book. Absolutely beautiful. For us regular folk, this is like leg day for your brain. Highly recommend it.

A human to learn from and be inspired by. We can all do really well for ourselves with one-tenth of the drive and focus that Cameron Hanes has for bow hunting. Absolute love for your craft. No other way.

How fast you want to move, with anything, is entirely up to you and the pace that your mind and body can handle. The main thing is getting to the finish line.

I still stand by what I've said for years. Self-help books can never pack as many lessons and as much wisdom as stories about a life well fought and well lived. MJK is a philosopher of our generation.

A physical calendar or goal plan stuck on your wall is a 50% guarantee of success. Avoid digital calendars. Digital calendars do not have to ability to stare at you everyday. The other 50% is making sure you cross off each day when your daily commitment is done.
