As you're probably aware, a devastating tornado hit Western Kentucky last night. Supplies for those affected by the disaster are being collected today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday) at the Henderson National Guard Armory, located at 735 Elm Street.
Parents absolutely get to decide what books their kids read or don’t, but their jurisdiction doesn’t extend to other people’s children. Our family (and many others) wants our kids/grandkids to read accurate history and the rich stories of ALL of humanity. Leave our kids alone.
This is powerful. Fight censorship. 💪
This is a before and after shot of what a single shelving unit in the library’s Teen Space would look like if we removed every book with content that could offend someone. Out of 159 books, there are ten left on the shelves.
