The University of Kent is closing its philosophy department among others. This was a thriving department who did great in the REF and the NSS. The government are not helping universities to thrive and are not helping the humanities. kent.ac.uk/news/statement…

I love this little documentary, featuring my former colleague @edithmayhall. Students in my Aristotle seminar were fascinated to see the place Aristotle grew up and think about how the geography and politics might have influenced his work.
