Started holding BTC and really buying into cypherpunk ideals. Tried ETH, didn't know what I was doing, got wreckt by failed transactions and fees. Was recommended Algorand by a friend, used it and instantly got hooked with how fast and smooth it is, never looked back.
TLDR: Algorand was NOT affected by the AWS outage today. Decentralization for the win. Uptime, instant finality, no failed transactions, unnafected by cloud downtime, atomic swaps on L1, tokens as native assets, freeze/clawback options, Python/typescript programmable $USDC, etc
This AWS outage was just a hiccup, and it raises a bigger question: could any blockchain withstand a state-sponsored attack on cloud providers or a supply chain failure? Think chip shortages or SolarWinds-style hacks. I'm not sure if any blockchain could survive that today, but…
