The Kansas KidWind State Finals are underway in Topeka! Winners in each age group will advance to the Nationals in Boulder, CO. Good luck to all of these amazing teams!
Even when the weather doesn't work in our favor for our last regional kidwind and it delays teams from arriving, we rise to the challenge and adjust on the fly. Come check out our schools competing at the NKESC building in Oakley from 9am-3pm today!

Great job to all of our teams today! 1st place teams were The Goblins, 9-12 & Los Girasoles Ventosos (aka the windy sunflowers), 4-8th grade. The Windy Pickles got voted Most Artistic by their peers. Judge's Choice went to The Goblins, 9-12 & The WINDers, 4-8.
We've had 2 excellent presentations today. One from the KSU collegiate wind team "Wildcat Power" at lunch time. While waiting for results, they are currently hearing from today's sponsor, Orsted. The support & growth for our Kidwind program every year is so appreciated!
The Goblins blowing up the records! They hit an astounding 117 in the tunnel, our highest for the year so far!
Starting off the Manhattan Kidwind Challenge with a bang! Los Girasoles Ventosos with 82.22 joules in the wind tunnel!
Each student got to vote, and Team "Blew" walked away with the title for "The Most Artistic" turbine with their painted day and night sky on the blades. Such amazing talent these kids have.
The day went very smoothly and we had some impressive turbines today. We want to congratulate all of the teams on a job well done. A special shout out to our winners today, Cru Winds and The Cyclones! See you at State!
The day is winding down, the room is buzzing with excitement waiting for the results.
