Had to write something on this. I was a bunch of data points. And by the reaction I got, pretty common as well. Feels weird to say that I don’t wish to accept it. It’s dehumanizing. So part rant, part honest take on the circus people call arranged marriages. Link in bio.

Day 24 of 31 Days of Horror goes to First Omen (2024) by Arkasha Stevenson. Maintaining a streak during holiday season has been tough but I ended up watching a good film. First omen is a pretty cool prequel to the original omen (1976). I didn’t remember much of the original…

Day 21 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Siktar Kubur or Grave Torture (2024) by Joko Anwar. 3rd Indonesian film of this marathon and all by Joko Anwar. Auteur who loves horror and it shows in his editing and cinematography. Grave Torture is a good film. A religious horror I must…

Day 20 of 31 Days of Horror goes to It comes at night (2017) by Trey Edward Shults. A pretty disappointing film because nothing happens here. It’s not even psychological horror. It’s one of those films where human emotions are ‘villains’. Marketed in a horrible way. When I…

Day 18 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Bodies, Bodies, Bodies (2022) by Halina Reijn. A very uninspiring movie for the first 80 minutes and then flip the switch. It’s not great but it’s fun to watch a slasher horror which has some layers, once peeled, would help you look at the…

After Asia cup final, I spent a lot of time on watching hilarious things here on X. Within 15 days, my feed is so weird that every other post makes me angry. That is by design. Need to refine my feed again.

Day 16 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Toad Road (2012) by Jason Banker. This indie American film made on a shoe string budget spoke way more than more horror movies can. It’s about an urban legend of Todd road that opens up 7 gates of hell. It’s not exactly found footage film…

There’s something peculiar in this scene that caught my eye. Bob asked Sensei for help and Sensei responds “Courage, Bob. Courage.” Then Bob screamed ‘Viva LA Revolucion’. Bob was seen screaming multiple times in the film. But not once you’ll see Perfidia or Sensei scream out…

Day 15 of 31 Days of Horror goes to R-Point (2004) by Kong Su-chang. This South Korean film has been in my watchlist for half a decade but wasn’t a part of this horror marathon. I came across an insta reel on this film and decided to end the wait. It’s not your usual ‘war as…

Day 14 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Ratu Ilmu Hitam (2019) by Kimo Stamboel. Indonesians know how to make horror. Pure brutal trad horror written by Joko Anwar (Writer/ Director of Pengabdi Setan and Impetigore). He’s like John Carpenter of Indonesian films. He’s everywhere.…

My offer went on hold in last 3 days of my notice in a previous org in 2022, there was no turning back. Next 10 days, I rewatched Attack on Titan in its entirety and 7 other films. That was the most fun I had in years then.

I got laid off less than 5 days ago and I’ve already watched about 10 films. I’m about to have the most fun anyone has had in years.

Day 13 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Angst (1983) by Gerald Kargl. This Austrian-German film was apparently banned in Europe for its gruesome depiction of violence. A serial killer on the loose, this film deals with the idea of nature vs nurture when it comes to evil. The…

I was disappointed when I explored waves OTT for the first time. It was a generic OTT platform which featured old Doordarshan content which is mostly available on YT for free. Same hollywood content along with some nostalgic shows. No differentiation while playing in an already…

12th Day of 31 Days of Horror goes to Pengabdi Setan (2017) by Joko Anwar. This Indonesian horror film is a very typical supernatural horror film you can imagine like Conjuring. I’ve seen Joko’s Impetigote (2019) last October so I was curious if his signature horror auteur…

Day 11 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Churuli by Lijo Jose Pellissery. I wasn’t aware this was a LJP film when I added it to my list. I’ve been a huge admirer of Jallikattu and this film was mindbender in itself. Saying more would ruin the film but such a well made film with…

Day 10 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Funny Games (1997) by Michael Haneke. This was my first rewatch and if I have to give any film the credit of turning me into a cinema nerd is Funny Games. I’ve been a casual watcher all my life and I watched Funny Games in horror marathon…

Day 9 of 31 Days of Horror goes to Pontypool (2008) by Bruce McDonald. Absolutely speechless. Every now and then you come across some films that just slaps the normie out of you. In 2023 it was Haneke’s Funny games. This year it is Pontypool. It’s a film way ahead of its time…

Day 8 of 31 days of horror goes to Black Coat’s daughter (2015) by Osgood Perkins. I loved Longlegs so I had to check out Perkins’s debut. It was a slow burn that escalated quickly and explores how abandonment and isolation affects people at a young age. Made me remind my…
