Exhaling deeply, he shook his head, arms crossing and resting upon the bar. "More like I was looking for someone. No one in particular."
“You come to meet someone?” Nikolae was a curious soul, just concentrating on this customer with a smile. The club life wasn't for everyone, so he tried to make it the best while he could for some people.
Nodding in agreement, Laur sighed as his gaze moved about the venue idly. There wasn't really anybody who caught his eye. So he gazed back at the bartender, who had come around the counter to sit.
“It is amazing in the fall and spring. . But with this weird weather, I wouldn't even try.” He eventually walked around the counter to sit, needing to rest his feet.
"I don't care much for politics," he said with a little shake of his head. "But I /have/ heard that it's cold. Never been over there, but I honestly don't think I'd want to go."
“Well, I was raised in communism, but when that faded—I was already in my 'programmed' state.” He laughed, tracing the ledge of his glass before adding in one last detail. “It is extremely cold.”
"Yeah, just a bit." He scoffed in amusement as he sipped his water and hummed quietly. "So Russia, huh? What's that like?"
“It is hard to miss.” He laughed, tapping his watch with a slightly impatient sigh—he should've clocked out an hour ago. . but the business was keeping him from doing so.
"Ah," he said with a small nod. "I thought I recognized the accent." He rested his chin in his palm and hummed under his breath.
“Well, I suppose we are two immigrants looking for a good time in England. I'm from Russia.” He chuckled, trying to talk over the music, which pulsated and caused a reverberation along the counter.
"Mmh, I don't speak French unless I'm in France." It's another little white lie. He just wasn't feeling in the mood to speak the tongue of his native country. He'd only lived there as an infant anyway.
“France, huh? Well, bonjour.” He was fluent in French, just jealous of Laurence. . Because Nikolae has never gotten the opportunity to go to France.
The actor gave him a strange look but nodded nevertheless. "Yeah, I've been living here for pretty much my whole life. I was born in France, though." This was pretty much common knowledge to anyone who knew who he was.
Nikolae would like to think he's a different story. . Mostly because his story was unique, and he himself was an enigma. He leaned forth, taking kitten sips from the glass get had prepared hours ago. Business made it impossible to drink. “You from around here?”
