🚨 27,000 KILLED IN SUDAN’S DARFUR IN 3 DAYS Darfur governor Minni Arkou Minnawi says 27,000 people were killed in just three days after the RSF captured El-Fasher late last month — a massive jump from earlier estimates of about 2,500 deaths. In March 2025, Senator Chris Van…

The U.S. has the leverage to help stop the RSF's atrocities in Sudan, RIGHT NOW. But to do that we have to use it. Today, Republicans blocked my effort to pass legislation to suspend arms sales to the UAE until we can verify they are no longer arming the genocidal RSF. Shameful.

the thing about being neo-colonized is that it is *really* quite boring. it robs you of the capacity to start with your own issues first. instead, you must always contexualize your socioeconomic reality in relation to your neo-colonizer. no one *wants* to be talking about the UAE

as nice as it might be to believe that MBS is the cause for renewed interest in Sudan... the reality is that it was the unwillingness of Sudanese ppl to let the war erase our voices that has kept the very little attention Sudan has gotten. from journalists to ERRs to activists

the world doesnt owe Sudan attention, but it cant say it isnt implicated. globalization has made us obscenely interconnected e.g. if you happen partake in the very staid activity of drinking soda, there is 80% chance youre consuming Sudanese arabica gum (an essential ingredient)

from reporting the story to becoming the story, Yousra reflects on what it means to be a Sudanese journalist at this time & offers insight into what propels her. & on being held captive by the RSF, she says: "there is a real electrifying bloodthirst." podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/in-…

I had to remind one of the senators today that Canadian companies have long been complicit in state violence in Sudan since the late 90s, Lundin and Talisman to name a few who funded the Bashir regime to « clear » oil concession fields in the South during the bloodiest phase of

the same year that Israel was established, apartheid went into effect in South Africa. & the architect of apartheid, Jan Smuts, authored the preamble to the UN Charter. the system built after WWII was designed to uphold the domination of the global north & (settler) colonialism

This is why it’s a continuation of the genocide in Darfur, not a new one. SAF continues to deny justice to Darfuris in order to protect itself. Reminder: Darfuri orgs and local communities have been calling for the UN, so this is a direct suppression of their demands.…

Y’all don’t want a free Sudan. Y’all just want the Sudan right before the war.

seeing the abysmal terms on which the Gaza Plan was negotiated, things dont bode well for Sudan w/ Trump's involvement-- especially if the UAE is seen as a partner in the peace process & not an aggressor. but we're so desperate for a resolution that this feels like a hail mary
