A pleasure to watch Russian TV—for a change! They're finally acknowledging that a genocidal war probably wasn't the best way to win Ukrainian hearts & minds. Love the blaming of "эти люди" ("those ppl")—as if Putin himself isn't the mastermind of Russia's catastrophe in Ukraine.

Life comes at you fast: pundits on Russian TV realize that their military is failing and their country is in trouble. They are starting to play the blame game. Some of them finally understand that their genocidal denial of the Ukrainian identity isn't working in Russia's favor.

Even being passive can be negligent or worse - consider a lifeguard who sits and does nothing while a person is drowning. Such people have an affirmative duty to act.

While we can condemn manchin, how is it that not one single Republican senator will support a climate or energy program?

I asked GPT-3 what are "fun things to do in Mountain View" and it returned nothing. I thought the Open API must be broken but then i realized that is the correct answer

Uh, the "high point of the Confederacy", the failure of Pickett's Charge, at the stone wall at Gettysburg? Hardly an image suggesting future success.

More great news about plastic.

"Enteric viruses that cause diarrhea and stomach upsets, were found to survive in water by attaching to microplastics, tiny particles less than 5mm long. They remain infectious, posing a potential health risk." theguardian.com/environment/20…

Price for a barrel of oil today: $117.59 Price for a barrel of oil in 2014: $120.45 So why are gas prices 2 dollars higher per gallon today than they were in 2014? Because Big Oil corporations are hiking prices to rake in record-setting profits.

I'm excited to share something I've been working on for a while—ApplyingML.com! It collects the tacit, tribal, ghost knowledge on how to apply machine learning from papers, guides, and interviews with ML practitioners.

I will be filling out my ballot today. I will not vote for any Republican.

I'm a little annoyed by all the, "Hey, they're coming for us next" tonight. Yeah, well right now it's us. It's like the revelation that men who shoot their wives and girlfriends sometimes also shoot other people, too. Scary, huh? It's so fun being the canary in the coal mine.

We’re into that time of year again where the CO2 at Mauna Loa is higher than last year’s peak – so we’re now seeing the highest CO2 ever recorded and for at least 2 million years. Data and graphics from - keelingcurve.ucsd.edu

Because no one else said this, I’ll add it makes errands so much fun! Going on 2k miles on my RAD citybike and have never had a flat tire. Bike paths, roads, gravel and a bit of dirt track. Hills are no problem even loaded with groceries.

I shall try 1 brick at a time :)

We wouldn’t use our e-bikes for hauling bricks or lumber either :-)

Good point! Also, it's amusing to watch the automatic wipers come on so the non existent driver can "see."
