The Google Latino engineers shared their story on how they got to work at Google as well as the need for more talent in a field that is growing. They invited our 8th graders to seriously think about computer science as a career.
4th Graders were "ALL IN" for the presentation and @scratch activity led by the Latino Google Engineers and developers. Students were able to work on the brand new Spanish language version activity "Animar un nombre" at CSFirst @GoogleForEdu
This program's goals are to educate students/young professionals about the IT/IS careers at the FRBC, to provide a networking opportunity with our IT/IS professionals, and to hear from senior leaders in the IT/IS industry.

When you look at technical employees that number drops to 1-2%. Don't talk about the pipeline problem, though. 12% of Computer Science degrees are earned by Hispanics. There's a pipeline of Latinx talent - but they are not being hired. #techinclusion #latinxintech
