I’d suggest a different way of looking at the problem. We have to move from being “data-driven” to “evidence-based.” Collective human judgement, informed by evidence, is how student progress should be assessed. All students should have digital portfolios & present & defend work.
Nothing is ever really going to change in our educational system until we first get rid of empirical measures of learning.
My son!😍
Crazy hat day? No. This guy went and did a thing. An arduous, laborious, prolonged thing. He officially became a doctor yesterday. A PhD in Theology with an OT emphasis. Doctor @brandonreedcash , I’m overwhelmed with pride.

I did a focus group with college students asking them in what ways they were most and least well prepared for college by their excellent public high school, and this what they told me. It was all about the skills. What would your recent hs grads say? Ask them!

Confidence begins with self-acceptance—which is made possible through a strong faith in God's love and plan for our lives. I believe it is insulting to God when we compare ourselves with others. Today, make a decision to be grateful for the person God made you to be! #JoyceQuote

Let’s let the “F” word out of our academic vocabulary. The only failure I recognize is the failure not to show up, not to try. Everything else is learning through trial and error. I think there are only 3 valid grades: A, B, or incomplete. nyti.ms/2UFaTI7?smid=n…
