A6 I love every resource in the book, but I think that my favorite is the 50+ videos that are so beautifully done. Teachers need these visual learning opportunities and I know that they will use them across the year to engage in collegial dialogue. #G2Great
A5: I like this book for many reasons: differentiated instruction; evidence-based interventions; assessment that is targetted at both individual and the system. All these are done in an environment in which teachers are empowered and have the tools and skills they need. #G2Great
A6 I want to emphasize that the power of these wonderful support features is that they are RESOURCES (vs mandates). Professional learning is bout honoring teachers with ongoing support along with expert coaching + collaboration with others. #G2Great

My brain is being stretched by the CLLN today. @JiannaTaylor I love the work w/ the newest planners and guides that @carla_soffos shared earlier this morning. Sounds like they will be helpful for interventionists teaching GRP, CFGs, etc. I'll be looking closely at the documents!
Dear @educationweek : If you persist in pushing the "science of reading," you must not prop up your arguments with ***unscientific surveys and anecdotes***. Meet the standards you expect of others, and do the due diligence, or listen to the profession.
How many good readers know the rules that explain why every /c/ in Pacific Ocean is pronounced differently? If they don't know the rules,how did they learn to pronounce it correctly? Or understand it when they see it in print? (Expl: much of phonics is "acquired," not "learned.")
Research on the distinction between successful teachers wasn’t around the amount of explicit phonics instruction in the early grades but the amount of time they spent coaching kids on how to use phonics on the fly to figure out unknown words. P David Pearson #ILA19 #G2Great
