Sixty four years ago in October 1959, The Twilight Zone premiered. As my dad said: The writer’s role is to menace the public’s conscience. He must have a position, a point of view. He must see the arts as a vehicle of social criticism and he must focus on the issues of his time.
I’m waiting for the police briefing, but i want to be clear: when you convince people that politicians are rigging elections, drink babies blood, etc, you will get violence. This must be rejected. This is why the Jan 6th committee is so important.
If you’re a librarian in favor of restricting access to certain books, you’re not much of a librarian.
A sense of universal responsibility has the power to negate adverse traits such as selfishness, deceiving others, abuse, and so on. There will be no need to be afraid. Life becomes meaningful, and households, communities, and nations, large and small, become happier.
