The war in Sudan has received a fraction of the attention given to Gaza and Ukraine. Yet it threatens to be deadlier than either conflict. It is possible to save millions of lives, if the world acts now econ.st/3AFKbcJ
Hello Everyone, I am reaching out to you today with a deeply personal request that weighs heavily on my heart. My name is Zuelkefl, and I’m a 24-year-old who left Sudan a year ago to support my family. Today, I need your help to bring them to safety. The ongoing war in Sudan…
No one understands the sheer scope of this war, what it has taken from the Sudanese people. No one understands. Not even us.
Clashes erupted earlier this year between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces in a fight for political power. Sky News speaks to Najla who is sleeping on cardboard in a displacement centre with her children Read more ➡️ trib.al/pqhNeUC

Great article by @mathanixd about Sudan's overlooked conflict. Many Sudanese negotiators, now refugees, have lost everything, including family members. Each time I raised my Sudan flag at #COP28 was a reminder of my people's suffering and the uncertainty of seeing home again.
“When I was seeing how the whole world is not only aware but empathetic and fighting for what is happening to [the Palestinians], and as a Sudanese youth nobody even knew that I was displaced too, it really hurts”. buff.ly/3trmVMn
I'm Palestinian, and my mother is half-Sudanese. My mother loved two cities in her entire life: Khartoum and Gaza. Both are being destroyed as I'm typing this text, and their residents are being killed. I do not know how to calm her down; helplessness is not even an expression.
I've been on both sides of this war. Inside and outside. I felt helpless on both ends. I can't process the fact that we are watching people plead for help on the TL and all we can do is retweet and hope someone does something to save their lives. لا حولا ولا قوة إلا بالله
Now that the RSF has entered Medani, they have begun looting — an essential part of their MO. #KeepEyesOnSudan
A brief reflection on my assessment of the #COP28 outcome on the #GGA. @LDCChairUNFCCC @leenay_ @IIED @SilvaCec20 @SelamKAbebe @CharraTesfaye @Selam_Wubet @Emi_Beauchamp @TimoLeiter @Susannahfisher a 🧵 1/6
This Gender Day at #COP28, I reflect on a cause dear to me: elevating women in climate talks. As the first woman Chair of the LDC Group, I've shared my thoughts on how we can close the gender gap in these crucial @UNFCCC negotiations iied.org/women-least-de….
As we celebrate the adoption of the #LossAndDamage fund, join us at the LDC Pavilion at 6pm today to share our memories of Saleemul Huq and pay tribute to all that he did for the LDC Group and all vulnerable communities through his dedication in demanding climate justice #COP28
This is sad news. A true loss for the climate justice space. It'll never be the same without him
It is with heavy hearts that we inform you about the passing away of our director, Prof. Saleemul Huq, on 29 October, 2023. His unmatched legacy will remain as a shining example for years and generations to come.
It has been an absolute honor to address the participants at #wcrposc2023 and give some insights into the climate policy work we do at @IIED and why global cooperation should do better. Hoping for a strong #KigaliDeceleration that can better guide #COP28!
@leenay_ delivers a powerful message to #wcrposc. Clear call for cooperation, not charity! Preparing us for the #KigaliDeclaration this conference is working on! Research with impact is imperative! @Northeastern
Latest Sudan figures: 2.5 million people displaced (OCHA) and at least 330 children killed and 1,900 injured (UNICEF). In Khartoum alone, at least 36 cases of sexual assaults have been documented by the Sudanese Unit of Combating Violence against Women and Children.
13/ In addition to #COP28 many have been tweeting about Sudan recently. The general stance seems to be against Burhan, which puts them in line with UAE foreign policy. A lot of the content is just thanking UAE for aid to Sudan.
