I'm thrilled that the second "New Voices On Food" book is ready to preorder! somekindpress.com/products/new-v… It's a Diversity In Food Media project and it showcases 10 memorable stories about food by Australians from under-represented communities. It was a total joy to edit this book!

In July, I pitched the idea of a book showcasing diverse voices on food. In August, we opened submissions to Australians from under-represented backgrounds. In September, I shortlisted the final pieces and edited the manuscript. It's now being printed! somekindpress.com/products/new-v…

At Sydney's only full-time Mexican bakery, you'll find horchata-sweet coffee, an ancient hot choc that predates Euro-style cocoa by 1000s of years, a Mex pastry that tastes like Iced VoVos and much more. Here's my write-up on Pancho Bakery for @goodfoodAU: smh.com.au/goodfood/sydne…

Taylor Swift releasing (needing?) 30+ variants of her new album in ONE WEEK to knock off Adele’s sales record feels cynical. Should a billionaire really squeeze her fans this way? @mckinneykelsey on how ‘good art does not come from greed’ is the BEST piece I’ve read about TLOAS.

I once read just 4 books in a year. In 2025, I’ve read more than 60 – a lifetime record for me! Recreational reading has declined throughout Australia, but I hope this story might inspire people to turn some pages. (Thanks @nicoheath for editing this!) abc.net.au/news/2025-10-0…

FYI, @fbiradio's supporter drive ends soon – if you're able to support the station, please do! It played @thekidlaroi & @flumemusic when they were teens (I recall playing Flume's demo as Harley when he was 15!) and has showcased Sydney culture for 20+ yrs fbi.radio/support

Al Amara is the only Sydney shop that freshly mills its own tahini. Made from pure sesame, this Iraqi bakery's tahini is one of the best things I've eaten this year. "It has more complexity and character than entire bookshelves." My review in @goodfoodAU smh.com.au/goodfood/sydne…
