it doesn't beat arithmetic packers such as 7z LZMA in packing ratio. But arithmetic coding is too slow at decoding on a 68k for 64KiB or more demos. (and if you want nice arithmetic coding, better use STrinkler)
out of curiosity, how does it compare to packice and packfire?
it beats any "non arithmetic coding" atari packer. So it does not beat packfire "large" mode (LZMA). ( but arithmetic coding is extremly slow to depack on a 68k. Not suited for 64KiB or more )
