Just finished recording a new demo for @ReflameApp that includes our new component testing product! Now the demo on reflame.app is no longer 2 years out of date haha... And it's 2 minutes shorter! And hopefully at least as compelling. Let me know what you think!

I'm excited to share that I am officially a founder again. This time, I'm building something close to heart: not a healthcare SaaS platform, but a tool that helps developers find and fix production issues 10x faster. Here's why. 🧵

I'm a customer. Been planning a migration for a while, but I'm actually pretty excited about the idea of an open source Fauna that we can self deploy. Hoping it gets a new life as an open source project like Rethink instead of falling into irrelevance.

Bummer. Making a database company is apparently very difficult. fauna.com/blog/the-futur…

I swear, all my best ideas for @ReflameApp pop up right when I try to go to sleep after late-night coding sessions. It's well past 4 AM now, and I've spent the past hour+ frantically pacing and jotting down ideas. Do people with normal sleeping schedules experience this too?

I'm probably going to declare bankruptcy on all these server centric data fetching patterns and go down the local first rabbit hole instead. I'd rather eliminate latency altogether if I'm going to have to take on a whole extra layer of complexity either way. Plus the complexity…

It seems like the lack of docs around .use is intentional, the docs are focused on end users and React doesn't want end users to be using .use directly without server components to fetch data

Compiled my own Linux kernel for the first time today. (to enable uinput for Sunshine support on a new Nvidia Orin Nano Super that just arrived, still not quite sure what I'm going to be doing with it yet, was a bit of an impulse buy...). Nerd street cred at an all-time high.…

Been experimenting a bit with vision-capable models (GPT 4o, Sonnet 3.5, Llama 3.2, Qwen2-vl) for OCR lately, and it seems like they still have a long way to go. Actual recognition is pretty good, but bounding box detection seems to be wayyy off. I can't help but feel I might be…

A lot of potential UX tradeoffs raised in replies already, but I wanted to highlight an important security/privacy consideration as well: We can't really have cookie/storage/scripts isolation if marketing site and product are on the same domain. news.ycombinator.com/item?id=154426…

i cringe when a website's dashboard is on a subdomain
