A friend thought it was weird that strangers in a bar would interrupt us to ask me abt the Oxford comma. Nope, just Resting Librarian Face
Team javelina
Come along with me on my carnage (I mean course) check this morning. What should be one of the most beautiful golf courses in the country is being destroyed by herds of javelina. If anyone has a contact in AZ state govt that can help us find a solution please pass it along.

I work in in the Phoenix area. This morning there were sandpipers running around our parking lot. #HurricaneHilary
I've returned several times to the strange social question, "Why are Americans so angry at the idea that child sex trafficking - particularly by large organizations and by kidnapping American kids - is not as common as people suggest?" Because they are, this comes up every
They say that the cactuses in Phoenix, Arizona have been collapsing due to the extreme heat but please bear in mind you are a human being and not a cactus should you collapse due to the extreme heat you will be told that you’d better get used to it.
The largest public school district in Texas is eliminating librarian positions and converting the libraries into 'discipline centers' at 28 schools this upcoming year click2houston.com/news/local/202…

In shame, I confess I am beginning to fear that my years spent reading about past destruction wrought by plagues and disasters by machines and fascists has only really prepared me to sit here and read as current destruction is wrought by those same forces.
Holy shit what is wrong with you? “Sound of Freedom” is a dangerous child-trafficking exploitation film being weaponized to incite a death cult to target Democrats in order to destabilize American democracy. It was funded by actual sex traffickers and accused sexual predators.…
"Sound of Freedom," starring Jim Caviezel, tells a story of child trafficking and the people combating it. Read our review of the unlikeliest box office hit of the summer. nyti.ms/3rwPtD2
As the warning signs come down I hope an archive is collecting them placing them in folders storing them in sturdy boxes writing a clear finding aid so that some day when the history of the pandemic is written historians will see that for a moment we, at least, kind of tried.
#Deadloch is seriously the BEST thing to happen to me all summer and I need everyone else to open Prime and watch it. All eps are out. Lesbians. Tree huggers. Small town crime. A seal named Kevin. You’re welcome.
BREAKING: Gov. Abbott signed #HB900 into law, which will ban books about LGBTQIA+, Black, and Brown experiences in public schools. Lawmakers have no right taking away the freedom of Texas students to read — just because they don’t believe certain people are worth reading about.
The way that Bud Light and Target are reacting to the far right angry at including LGBTQ+ people is EXACTLY why many of us have railed against corporate pride. If your advocacy consists merely of rainbows that disappear at the first gust of fascist wind, it amounts to net harm.
So the going theory now is that things cost more because companies are just raising the prices for no reason other than to make more money. axios.com/2023/05/18/onc…
“The bar is lower than Hell” shall now enter my vocabulary.
These folks banning books are wild. I’m good y’all but be safe out here.
