He should start this now, right? Right? Oh God. So much planning, and now the moment's finally /here/. Okay. It's okay. He can do this.
"He's always two steps ahead of me," (no, not because he's so short, how dARE YOU--), "but not this time. I'm gonna pull it off this year."
It's not a question; of /course/ Sherlock doesn't like his birthday. But hey, he can never say no to his John, can he? Guess we'll see.
"Well. Maybe not." He chuckles a little, but it's more of a breathy huff than a laugh. "He... doesn't exactly /like/ his birthday. Does he."
"Think I'm the only person who could throw together a surprise party for Sherlock's birthday and get away with it."
"...God, it's. It's been a while, hasn't it? I guess if anything was gonna bring me back here, it'd be this."
