King’s comment is rooted in the belief that rape is a legitimate form of sex, as is sex that’s forced or coerced through subjugation & control. It’s relevant that King says this while defending his anti-choice bill restricting abortion, which seeks to control anyone w/ a uterus.

Like pro-lifers, I believe in protecting the life of the child. Where we differ is I want to protect the girl being forced to have a baby at 12, and the toddler being separated from his parents & kept in a cage for the crime of wanting a safer life. See we’re dif but the same!
Being willing to be realistic about the difficulties of chronic and mental illness is the healthiest and most positive thing I can do for myself. Shaming is negativity and so is pretending everything is alright all of the time.
