Marx’s Thesis XI: “The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point is to change it.” If the point is to change the world, then what is your theory of change? I resolutely hold that Alain Badiou best answers this with his philosophy of the Event.
Read it or don’t, but stop talking nonsense.
OK but if Badiou’s ontology isn’t mystical then how do you explain the fact that Cantor discovered transfinite numbers through divine revelation?

Philosophy is not grounded in ontology. Philosophy thinks the compossibility of truths which ontology fundamentally forecloses. Only as subject do we intervene on the undecidability of paradoxical multiples - which a philosopher does not do.
Badiou's Being and Event is important for a few reasons. I think Daniel offers a concise account. But I'd add more generally that this text grounds philosophy in ontology not in language or epistemology (the philosophy of difference which was en vogue in French thought) and does…
What a dumb fucking idiot world they’ve forced us to live in.
NOW - Musk: "Long-term, the AI's gonna be in charge, to be totally frank, not humans."
If you think Badiou has a soft spot for Continental Philosophy think again. Or read the fucking essay this is from.
"Continental Philosophy" is a result of Europe's post WWII Brain Drain—her best philosophers having fled to England & The United States. Ofc the remainder are going to be resentful, who can blame them! Doesn't mean you ought to take them seriously, but we ought to pity orphans.
AI needs to go.
