ICAC Economist Lorena Ruiz and Communications Director Mike McCue just returned home from a trip to Benin last week, where they spent time with senior government officials planning for the upcoming World Cotton Day celebration, which will be held in Cotonou October 6-8.

But to get where we want to go, we need to know where we are first. ITC's effort in 2011 was the last time an organisation attempted to conduct a survey to measure the role of women in the cotton sector, so we need updated information — and that's where you come in!
FAO (through the +Cotton project implemented jointly with Brazil), the ICAC and the ICA's Women in Cotton Committee are conducting a 'Global Survey of the Role of Women in the Cotton Sector' to measure women's vital contributions, challenges, and opportunities in cotton.
The survey will begin in the Region of the Americas. The survey deadline for completion is 20 September. The survey will be available in three different languages: English forms.office.com/r/LFC3ws3wd0
