Congrats to Md. Shenuarin Bhuiyan, PhD, Associate Professor of Pathology, who was recently awarded a five-year $3,301,470 R01 grant from the NIH National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute for his project, "Novel mitophagy regulatory mechanism in heart failure."

Congrats, Dr. Richa Aishwarya! She is the May Post Doctoral Fellow of the month. Her mentor is Dr. Bhuiyan. Dr. Aishwarya's research is focused on understanding the pathophysiology of cardiac and skeletal muscle pathologies with a prime emphasis on mitochondria and autophagy.
