The Survivor Justice Act passed in the GA Senate today. Finally, legislation that rekindles hope for many I've done time with still serving ridiculous sentences for self-defense & surviving! It's been 10+ years in the making @IgnitingHopeGA & @CommunityATL but we're almost there.
As part of the Georgia Justice Reform Partnership's Talk Justice Tuesday series and in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, join @CommunityATL, @WomenOnTheRise1 & @IgnitingHopeGA next Tues to learn about the GA Survivor Justice Act. Register at bit.ly/DV-TJT
Only thing worse than having the shittiest customer non-service @Xfinity @XfinitySupport, is refusing to talk BECAUSE you can't manage to provide the services we pay for. Wifi out all afternoon in the entire neighborhood. Called 3x, was hung up on each time, then this nonsense.
Excited to announce ACSP's Toolkits Platform is now available, for free, for directly-impacted community members. Read more at atlcommunitysupport.org/toolkits
Hope to see some of y'all at #justiceday2025! Come by the @CommunityATL table and say hi.
Happy to be repping @CommunityATL talking about the #survivorjusticeinitiative and gathering in solidarity with Women Over Dinner alongside @pagedukes @gajustice @WomenOnTheRise1 @MotherhoodBynd and @IgnitingHopeGA
On this day in 1970, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Macon, Georgia, city officials' decision to close a public park rather than open it to Black residents. calendar.eji.org/racial-injusti…
Donate a coat and/or come have coffee with @CommunityATL and our comrades for an MLK Day of Service tomorrow as we support @KareemahHanifa's annual coat drive and our community members living outside at 2760 Hollowell Pkwy from 3-5:30pm
I hated to see Jermaine Wright lose East Point's at-large runoff but am more upset about Fulton's turnout. After enduring the dumbest, most nauseating politician circus ever, it's hard to accept that almost no one cares who's making decisions about our neighborhoods & homes.
I'm so proud of what we've built at @CommunityATL. The caliper of (often the very) people who've supported me enable us to do the same for others. And we won't stop until everyone is free... from cages, discrimination, & racist oppression that built & runs the criminal system.
Today is special. As we prepare to launch ACSP's Toolkits platform, directly-impacted people are getting early access & giving feedback. Keeping the community in control is what makes the research & resourcing we do so effective. Be part of that solution: atlcommunitysupport.org/donate
Join us for a community call this evening at 6:30pm ET. We'll be talking about our attorney review database and giving y'all an exclusive sneak peek at our new Toolkits platform. It'll be virtual (Zoom). DM us for the deets!
On Election Eve & days after opening a diversion center, @atlcouncil should be voting to approve long-term funding for @PADatlanta, a community-built public safety resource. Instead, @andreforatlanta and others are playing petty games. #PADNotPolitics
Glad to have the ACSP team together and be in community with our national comrades this week at the @ficpfm conference. #CountUsIn #FICPFM2024
Check out this piece on FIP voter suppression in Georgia. Timely discussion for @CommunityATL and our work at the @ficpfm #ficpfm2024 #CountUsIn conference. Thanks to @pagedukes for coordinating, and to @CharlotteKramon for putting PEOPLE first. wabe.org/advocates-in-g…
Yes! That's right Asst. AG Clarke, we're PEOPLE. This investigation goes back to when I was still housed at Arrendale. I'm so glad we'll have these details to reference and cite and, honestly, just happy @TheJusticeDept is acknowledging we're all PEOPLE. youtube.com/watch?v=bX5vt4…

I'm glad I can have these little chats with my robot. You should all do the same.
Somebody stopped at the red light in front of me, opened the door, and dropped a bunch of trash on the street. WTF.
