Year 1 & 2 at Old Church Primary have really enjoyed creating these ‘London landmarks’ this week, with all 120 kids joining in over the four days. I love everything about these. Special. 😊 darrellwakelam.com

I loved this one, the warm greens of the moss were so comforting to paint. Then you have the shifting grain of riso which perfectly encapsulates a memory of a cloudy day in Scotland. Art ey, who knew.

I did another "why deaf people don't hear like hearing people" training today. I keep wondering if I could do an online one mainly aimed at deaf/HOH people and raise enough money from tickets (on a sliding scale) to cover BSL/STTR + £ for my time. Would folk be interested?

Great morning at Oxford Road Community Garden doing some tidying up with lots of other members! Was so busy I didn’t take any photos, sadly! orcg.org.uk

I don't think UK people understand just how few checks and balances there are in our government. I'd thought they might get it after the last few years but. What's happening in the US took 40 years of groundwork and preparation. It could happen here in a matter of months. 1/

So this is what the Sunday Times decided to publish today?

I absolutely love this! Really inspiring use of everyday materials - it gets me thinking of things I could use in similar ways…

Here is my cardboard ‘Roman Street’ . . . I’ve painted and sponged some colour onto this to bring out the textures. 😊 darrellwakelam.com

This dude: the secret is having an extremely hard-working wife. I’d like to see *her* thread of organisational tips.

On a @Se_Railway train to Wadhurst. Are there really no power sockets for passenger use? This is a bit of a pain and definitely out of step with other train companies.

We have just borrowed a library book with essentially this premise, “Once You’re Asleep” by Sarah Coyle - 3 siblings ask their parents what they do at night and the parents give various excessively imaginative answers and one more serious one. :)

Little boy on the train: Mama? His mum: Yes? Little boy: I never see you brush your hair. Mum: I do a lot of things you don't see. Pause. Little boy: Like flying?

I’ve backed Library Labyrinth on Kickstarter - can’t wait, it looks like a completely awesome board game. We have Disarm the Base also from @DissentGames and love it but I think this is going to be even better! Give it a look? kickstarter.com/projects/disse…

Discovered the #FlowerReport hashtag this evening thanks to a friend. Here’s info about its origins: good.is/articles/using… I don’t have a contribution of my own tonight but will make one tomorrow :)

The government’s war against Britain’s only termite colony will enter its 25th (and possibly final) year in 2022, after last week’s renewal of a contract to monitor and eradicate the infestation located in two bungalows near Barnstaple. A thread on the Devon termite saga (1/11).

As you may be aware, there was a fire in the Grovelands Road area of Tilehurst yesterday. Our school will act as a donation centre for anyone who wishes to drop off any items to help those affected by the fire. We would welcome any donations, of any size, to help our community.
