St Christopher, patron saint of travellers, appears in many 15th century wall paintings - like this one at St Breaca's Church in Breage, Cornwall. This painting, hidden for centuries, was rediscovered in 1891 during renovations. #WallPaintingWednesday 📸 © Tim Green

Watts Chapel nr Guildford ranks amongst my favourite buildings in England. “A miracle in terracotta” it was the vision of the social campaigner, designer + craftswoman, Mary Watts. Around 70 community members helped realise that vision at the dawn of the C20th @WattsGallery

So much about social media deeply concerns me but there are still huge positives to it. The love and care I’ve felt on here throughout my health problems has been huge. If you’ve messaged me these last few years, thank you so much. Every positive message has really helped.

Hope a national campaign was born yesterday, to rally all of society to protect our churches for generations to come; a spiritual inheritance however you come to them, faith or not. An honour to talk alongside such qualified, soulful and articulate speakers:

Agreed. I’m not religious, but I live directly opposite a beautiful church which dates back to the 1200s. I often go there to gather my thoughts, to sit quietly, & just …ponder. I absolutely love this country’s churches.

Saving our churches is saving something fundamental about Britain itself, the Britain that still believes in fairness, hospitality and humour. The Britain that knows how to queue politely, laugh at itself and show up when someone needs help. The Britain that looks after one…

This is a classic:
