The Security Council just approved a long-awaited resolution on Gaza, demanding an immediate ceasefire, and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. This resolution must be implemented. Failure would be unforgivable.
Horrifying news from Gaza. Again and again. Schools, shelters, children, UN facilities cannot be targets. Never.
Receiving horrifying images & footage of scores of people killed and injured in another @UNRWA school sheltering thousands of displaced in the north of the Gaza Strip. These attacks cannot become commonplace, they must stop. A humanitarian ceasefire cannot wait any longer.

In #Rafah I was at the gates to what is a living nightmare in #Gaza. I feel, at my core, the pain and immense suffering of every person whose loved one has been killed. We must all feel this shared pain and end this nightmare. ow.ly/Src450Q5Ap9
As we clocked over a decade since the onset of the Syrian war, enhanced engagement of all, including dev partners and the private sector will be key to ensure the Jordan success story of welcoming refugees lasts in light of global decrease in humanitarian funding. #togetherwecan
I thanked once again HM King Abdullah II for his country’s hospitality of Syrian and other refugees. Jordan has been exemplary in contributing to a global public good by hosting refugees for decades, therefore the current decline in international support must be rapidly reversed.
